Pune Rural Police Nab Daylight House Burglar; Suspect Had 23 Cases Against Him

Khadakwasla, 23rd October 2023: Pune Rural Police have arrested a notorious thief who had been involved in a series of house burglaries in broad daylight, generating fear among residents of Kirkatwadi, Nanded, and Donje areas. The accused has been identified as Atul alias Attha Chandrakant Amle, 28, a resident of Aakashnagar in Warje, Pune.

Amle has confessed to committing nine burglaries in Haveli, Rajgad, and Hinjewadi police station limits. He was already booked in 23 cases in various police stations and had recently been released on bail.

Jewelry weighing 150 grams and a two-wheeler valued at Rs 6,64,500 have been confiscated from his possession. The property seized is believed to have been stolen from closed flats that had been broken into.

Superintendent of Police (Pune rural) Ankit Goyal had given directives to Police Inspector Avinash Shilimkar of the local crime branch to apprehend the burglars. A comprehensive team was assembled, and technical analysis coupled with confidential informant information led them to Khadakwasla area, where the suspect was arrested.

Haveli police station is conducting further investigation into the matter, with a focus on finding potential connections to other unsolved burglaries in the area.
