Pune: Water Vending Machines Back At Pune Railway Station, Contract Given To New Contractor
Pune 20th Oct 2023: The issue related to drinking water at an affordable rate for commuters at the Pune Railway Station will finally be solved as two water vending machines have now been installed at the platforms. This comes after a long gap as the earlier installed machines by Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) through a contract were non functional for a long period following a dispute between the IRCTC and the contractor.
However, the citizens were forced to buy a water bottle costing Rs 15 for each litre to quench their thirst. Since the railway authorities have now made two water vending machines available for commuters, they can get their water bottles refilled at just Rs 5. The news machines have been installed at platform number 1 at the Railway Station.
The railway authorities have now given the contract to a new contractor and the decision is likely to reduce the commuters’ problems during their travel from Pune Railway Station.
