Pune Vimantal police station passport verification constable caught taking bribe

Pune – Officials from the anti-corruption bureau (ACB) on Wednesday caught a lady constable of Vimantal police station for allegedly taking Rs 1000 bribe sending positive report for passport verification.

The arrested police woman has been identified as Priyanka Abhijit Wagh, attached to passport verification section of Vimantal (airport) police station of Pune city police.

A 37-year-old man had approached the ACB and complained that the constable was asking for Rs 1000 bribe for immediately sending positive passport verification reports for him and his wife.

Accordingly a trap was laid on Wednesday evening and Wagh was caught taking the bribe red handed.
