CONVOCATION CEREMONY OF 132nd NDA COURSE
The Convocation Ceremony of 132nd National Defence Academy course was held at Habibullah Hall, NDA on 29 May 17. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Shri Ch Vidyasagar Rao, Hon’ble Governor, Maharashtra and Tamilnadu.
A total of 308 cadets were conferred the degree from Jawaharlal Nehru University which included 86 cadets in Science stream,141 cadets in Computer science stream and 81 cadets in Arts stream. This also included 06 foreign cadets.
The Chief Guest was received by Air Marshal JS Kler, AVSM, VM, Commandant, National Defence Academy. The Chief Guest in his convocation address spoke at length about the role and importance of Armed Forces in shaping today’s prospering India. He also congratulated the cadets for undergoing the training with dedication and hard work and motivated the cadets to carry forward the professionalism imbibed at the academy in their respective fields.
Trophy winners. Battalion Cadet Captain Akash K R won the Commandant’s Silver Medal and COAS Trophy presented by General K Sundarji, PVSM for standing first in Science stream with highest FGPA (Final Grade Point Average). CQMS Aditya Neekhara got the Commandant’s Silver Medal and the Admiral’s Trophy presented by Admiral Sureesh Mehta, PVSM, AVSM, ADC and the Chief of the Naval Staff for standing first in Computer Science stream with highest FGPA. Squadron Cadet Captain, Devender Kumar bagged the Commandant’s Silver Medal and the CAS Trophy presented by Air Chief Marshal N C Suri, PVSM, AVSM, VM for standing first in Arts stream with highest FGPA.Battalion Cadet Captain Akash K R also bagged the Chief of Naval Staff Trophy presented by Admiral OS Dawson, PVSM, AVSM for standing first amongst all the three streams.
Rear Admiral SK Grewal, VSM Deputy Commandant and Chief Instructor presented the Vote of Thanks for the occasion.
