Cab Drivers At Pune Airport On Strike Today, Know Details

Pune 9th Oct 2023: The cab drivers of OLA and Uber will not operate at the Pune Airport today following their strike against the alleged unfair policies of the company. The drivers have decided not to pick up passengers from the airport as part of their protest. The can drivers earlier on Friday held a protest at the Aeromall and had threatened to go on strike for their demands.

The drivers have claimed that they are paid less fare compared to auto rickshaws and they are demanding the cab companies to pay them higher fare. The drivers have also claimed that the cab companies are charging high commission on their earnings due to which their earnings are reduced and they are struggling to pay EMIs of their vehicles.

According to officials, around 100 cabs depart from Aeromall premises every hour and all of them will be on a halt as a protest. This will affect the air passengers arriving or departing from Pune Airport as they will struggle to get the cab to reach different areas in the city from the airport.
