From Training to Captaincy: Khushi Mulla Leads Maharashtra U-19 Women’s Team

Thergaon, 7th October 2023: Khushi Mulla, a seven-year trainee from PCMC’s Varroc Vengsarkar Cricket Academy, has been selected as the captain of the Maharashtra Under-19 Women’s cricket team, marking a significant achievement for the academy.

The former Indian cricket team captain, Dilip Vengsarkar, who is also the founder of the Varroc Cricket Academy, participated in a key planning meeting as the rainy season ended. With the onset of the new cricket season, numerous trials, tournaments, and matches are on the academy’s horizon.

Khushi is acclaimed for her role as an all-round opening batsman, having represented Maharashtra at the under-16, under-19, and under-23 levels. Alongside her, Mayuri Thorat and Achal Agarwal from the academy have been chosen for the Maharashtra team.

Since its establishment by Vengsarkar, Varroc Cricket Academy has fervently championed both women’s and men’s cricket. Upholding Vengsarkar’s dedication to the sport, the academy ensures equal facilities and significance for female cricketers.

Noteworthy coaches like Mohan Jadhav, Shadab Sheikh, Rahul Vengsarkar, Chandan Gangawane, Bhushan Suryavanshi, Pramod Liman, and Dr Vijay Patil attended the recent event, underlining the academy’s unwavering devotion to cricket talent cultivation in the region.
