‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ campaign is getting a huge response across the Maharashtra state: Rajesh Pande

Camp, 7th October 2023: A large number of students of Poona College have taken part in the Nationwide Meri Maati Mera Desh Campaign organized by Poona College of Arts, Science and Commerce IQAC, NCC and National Service Scheme. Mr. Rajesh Pande, State Coordinator, Savitribai Phule Pune University Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Parag Kalkar, Management Council Members, Principal Dr. Nitin Ghorpade, Dr. D. B. Pawar, Shri Ali Daruwala, Advisor, Minorities Commission of India, Vice Principal Dr. Iqbal Shaikh, Moinuddin Khan, Imtiaz Aga, Naaz Syed, Supervisor Naseem Khan, NCC ANO Dr. Shakir Shaikh, Ashad Shaikh, Vasudha Vhaval were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Rajesh Pande said it is a commitment to nurture and protect the land that has given us so much. It is a promise to uphold the values of unity in diversity, justice, and equality that our great nation stands for.

PVC Prof. Dr. Parag Kalkar inspired all the students and teachers to join the Meri Mati Mera Desh Abhiyan. The offerings were made in earthen pots made by students and teachers from different areas. Student Development Officer Dr. Baba Shaikh administered the oath of Meri Mati Mera Desh to all present.

Principal of Poona College Dr. Aftab Anwar Shaikh informed about various activities done by Poona College under Meri Mati Mera Desh Abhiyan.

Tributes have been paid to the brave hearts who laid down their lives for the country. Sadhana Dilip Ozharkar, Wife of Martyr Veer Jawan Havaldar Dilip Ozerkar, Father Balasaheb Ozerkar, mother Mangal Ozerkar was honored. On behalf of Poona College Principal Dr. Aftab Anwar Shaikh took responsibility for the further education of martyred soldier Dilip Ozarkar’s son and daughter by supporting them financially.
