Pune: MSRTC Bus Collides With Truck On Kalyan-Ahmednagar Highway, 15-20 Passengers Injured
Junnar 7th Oct 2023: A horrifying accident occurred late Friday night at the Malashej Ghat on the Ahmednagar-Kalyan highway. A collision involving an MSRTC bus and a truck has left at least 15 to 20 passengers seriously injured. The incident took place around 11:30 PM at Malashej Ghat on the Nagar-Kalyan highway.
The impact of the collision was so intense that the truck was overturned after the accident, causing significant damage to the MSRTC bus. According to officials, the Kalyan-Shiroli route bus was en route to Shiroli at the time of incident. The truck from Kalyan was traveling in the opposite direction, leading to the collision between the two vehicles.
The injured passengers have been rushed to the nearby private Hospital for treatment. The truck driver has also sustained serious injuries in the accident. It may be noted that a fatal accident was reported on the same highway in the last week, three farm workers were killed. Incidents like these have raised concerns among the residents and commuters about the safety on the Ahmednagar-Kalyan highway. The rising number of accidents on this highway necessitates immediate attention and action from the authorities to prevent further tragedies and ensure the safety of the traveling public.
