Pune: Restrictions On Heavy Vehicles During Specific Hours Planned In Koregaon Park, Kalyani Nagar Areas, Traffic Police Seek Public Opinion

Pune, 5th October 2023: In a new development, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Vijayakumar Magar has temporarily issued new traffic restrictions for Yerwada, Mundhwa, and Koregaon Park Traffic Divisions. These new orders supersede any previous restrictions in these areas.

Specific Restrictions

  1. Heavy vehicles traveling to and from Shastrinagar Chowk and Ramwadi Chowk to Koregaon Park and Mundhwa via the Agakhan Bridge from Pune-Ahmednagar Road will face restrictions.
  2. Heavy vehicles moving to and from the Koregaon Park area via South Main Road, North Main Road, and Burning Ghat Road to ABC Farmhouse Chowk in Kalyani Nagar and Mundhwa will also be restricted.
  3. Heavy vehicles traveling towards North Main Road in Koregaon Park from Tadigutta Chowk will be affected as well.

Timing of Restrictions

All types of goods transport vehicles with a capacity of one tonne and above will be restricted from 08:00 to 12:00 in the morning and from 4 PM to 11 PM in the evening every day.

Public Input

Citizens are invited to submit their suggestions or objections in writing to the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic Control Branch, located at Bungalow No-6, Jail Road, Near Yerwada Post Office, Pune 41006. The deadline for submissions is October 20, 2023. Final orders will be issued after considering public input and will exclude essential service vehicles like fire brigades, police vehicles, and ambulances.

The new traffic restrictions aim to streamline vehicular movement and reduce congestion in the specified areas.
