Pune: Liquor Prohibited For Sale Outside Goa Seized From Ambegaon By Excise Dept, Case Registered
Pune 5th Oct 2023: The officials of the excise department have seized liquor prohibited for sale outside Goa from Mauje Pondewadi village of Ambegaon taluka in Pune. The officials have seized a total of 243 liquor bottles worth Rs 1.62 lakh in the case.
According to officials, the excise officials had received information about a vehicle carrying prohibited liquor for sale. Accordingly, the excise department started checking suspected vehicles near Mauje Pondewadi village in Ambegaon. One of the vehicles carrying prohibited liquor was caught and the liquor was seized, officials have also seized vehicles in the case.
An accused identified as Santosh Ranpise and few others have been booked and the excise officials are investigating further in the matter. It may be noted that liquor manufactured in Goa is banned for sale outside Goa and excise department continues its action against people involved in such offence.
