Pune: 45-Year-Old Woman Injured In Leopard Attack In Otur
Pune 2nd Oct 2023: A 45-year-old woman was injured after she was attacked by a leopard while she was travelling on a bike with husband. The incident took place on Sunday evening at around 7:30 pm.
The injured woman has been identified as Manish Tambe (45), a resident of Gulepat in Otur. According to officials, Manisha was going with her husband Gangaram Tambe on bike when the leopard hiding in a sugarcane farm attacked them. Manisha sustained injuries in the incident and was immidiately rushed to the hospital while her husband was unhurt.
The forest department officials were rushed to the spot immidiately after the information was received. According to the officials, the woman is stable and was being treated at the hospital. The villages around Otur are already declared leopard-prone and incidents of leopard attacking human beings are often reported from here.
The forest officials have urged the villagers to take necessary precautions from being attacked by leopard in the region. A cage has also been kept in the area where the woman was attacked to catch the leopard.
