Pune Police Solve Vijay Dhume Murder Case In 24 Hours: Girlfriend Among Five Detained
Vadgaon Budruk, 1st October 2023: In a swift operation, Pune City Police have cracked the Vijay Dhume murder case within just 24 hours. Dhume, 44, a resident of Chinchwad Village, was murdered near Quality Inn Lodge on Sinhagad Road on Saturday (September 29) night. Police have detained five individuals, including Dhume’s long-time girlfriend, in connection with the murder.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Sujata Samir Dhamal, resident of Kirkatwadi, Sandeep Dashrath Tupe (23), resident of Rahu, Indapur, Sagar Sanjay Tupsunder (19), resident of Sahakarnagar, Prathamesh Ramdas Khandare (28), resident of Undri Pisoli, and a minor accomplice.
Two teams were formed by the Sinhagad police to investigate the crime. The suspects were identified based on 60 to 70 pieces of CCTV footage. Technical analysis led to the identification of the accused, including Sujata, who had been in a relationship with Dhume for 13 years. Further investigation revealed that Sujata had conspired with her new boyfriend, Sandeep Dashrath Tupe, to murder Dhume. There are many cases registered against Tupe at Temburni, Indapur, and Hinjawadi police stations.
Dhume, who was close to both the police force and several criminals in the city, had been in a relationship with the married Sujata for over a decade. Sujata, who aspired to work as a bouncer, met Tupe on Instagram four months ago. The police revealed that she conspired with Tupe to kill Dhume as her new relationship and ongoing issues with Dhume became obstacles.
The accused will be produced in court for police custody on Monday, 2nd October. The successful operation was carried out by a team led by Assistant Police Inspector Sachin Nikam and included Police Sub-Inspector Ganesh Mokashi, ASI Aba Utekar, and policemen Satish Nagul, Sunil Chikhale, Sanjay Shinde, Deva Chavan, Amol Patil, Vikas Bandal, Vikas Pandule, Sagar Shedge, Avinash Kode, Rahul Olekar, Shivaji Kshirsagar, Swapnil Magar and Daksh Patil.
