Pune: Fire Brigade Dept Receives 27 Complaints Related To Fire Incidents During 10 Days Of Ganeshotsava
Pune 29th Sept 2023: The grand processions of the visarjan for ganesh festival finally concluded on Friday afternoon and the officials from the various departments who were on duty round the clock to provide help to citizens also returned home to spend good time with their families. Among them were the fire brigade officials of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) who were on alert for the last 10 days to avoid any untoward incident during the festival.
According to the officials of the fire brigade department, a total of 27 calls related to fire incidents were received in the last 10 days during the festival. This includes a fire incident reported at the Sane Guruji Tarun Ganesh Mandal’s pandal where BJP’s National president JP Nadda was safely evacuated after the fire was reported. No injuries or casualty was reported in any of these incidents.
A total of 200 fire brigade personnel and 20 officers were deployed at various places including immersion points with life jackets and other equipment. Fortunately, no untoward incident was reported during this period. The immersion processions in Pune continued for over 28 hours till Friday afternoon.
