Pune : Man Threatening To Commit Suicide At Lonavala’s Lions Point Found Dead After Four Days Of Search Operation
Lonavala 29th Sept 2023: A 42-year-old man who was spotted threatening to commit suicide at the Lions Point in Lonavala was found dead after four days of search operation. The deceased identified as Santosh Shilavane, a resident of Ramnagar area of Lonavala was found in the jurisdiction of Raigad district.
According to officials, Shilavane was spotted threatening people to commit suicide at the Lions Point area. The tourists present nearby stopped him and later the police were called. However, despite urging him for a long time he was later not visible due to a dense fog in the area and then went missing. The rescue teams were called for help and the search was started.
According to police, the deceased was found in pieces during the search. The rescue officials found his body parts at different locations in the mountain. A missing case was already registered at the Lonavala rural police station. The police are yet to ascertain the reason behind his suicide and the matter is being investigated further.
