Pune: Three Dead And Two Rescued Alive After Auto Rickshaw Falls Into Well Near Saswad
Pune 26th Sept 2023: In a tragic incident reported near Saswad on Monday evening, an auto rickshaw fell into a well with five people onboard. The incident took place when a newly married couple had come to Jejuri temple with their family. Three people travelling in the auto died in the incident while two were rescued alive.
According to police, the incident was reported at around 8 pm on Saturday evening near Borawake Mala on Saswad-Jejuri Palkhi road. The driver of the auto rickshaw was speeding and could not control the vehicle which led to the accident, said officials. The couple from Dhayari area of Pune has died in the accident along with one more person.
The couple was married just two days before and was visiting different temples to take blessings of the god. The incident came to light after some villagers who were out for morning walk heard the call from the well for help. The police team and rescue officials were immediately called for help and the crane was also called to remove the auto rickshaw.
