Two Killed In Accident On Old Pune-Mumbai Highway, Truck Driver Booked
Pune 22nd Sept 2023: In a tragic accident reported near Chinchwad on old Pune-Mumbai Highway, two people have lost their lives after they were hit by a truck. The incident was reported at around 10:30 pm on Wednesday near Premier Plaza Big Bazar on the highway in Chinchwad.
According to police, the deceased identified as Chhatraram Ramji Chaudhary (45) and Achhalaram Durgaji Chaudhary (50) were travelling on the highway on a moped bike when they were hit by a truck from behind. Both sustained serious head injuries in the accident and they were rushed to hospital for treatment but doctors declared them dead.
The police have booked truck driver identified as Ramehwar Tulshiram Jadhav (23), a resident of Nashik district in the matter. A case under sections 304 (a), 279 and 338 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) along with sections 184, 119/177 of the Motor Vehicle Act has been registered at Pimpri Police Station. Further investigation in the matter is underway.
