First-Ever ICC Trophy Procession in India to Grace Pune Streets

Pune, 21st September 2023: Pune is set to bask in the glory of cricketing history as the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 Trophy makes its grand entrance into the city, marking the return of this prestigious tournament to India after 27 long years. The Maharashtra Cricket Association’s (MCA) International Stadium in Gahunje will play host to five thrilling matches, with the jewel in the crown being the face-off between the Indian cricket team and Bangladesh on October 19.

The driving force behind this magnificent spectacle is none other than the President of the Maharashtra Cricket Association, Mr. Rohit Rajendra Pawar, whose relentless efforts have brought this momentous occasion to fruition. Collaborating closely with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the International Cricket Council (ICC), Pune is gearing up to welcome the coveted ICC World Cup trophy with open arms on September 26.

Adding to the fervor of Indian cricket’s illustrious tradition, Pune will witness a grand procession of the ICC World Cup 2023 trophy. This dazzling spectacle will feature international cricket stars, the MCA President, the apex body of MCA, Indian players, and the captains of the Maharashtra Cricket Team, Kedar Jadhav and Ruturaj Gaikwad, alongside revered former players of the Maharashtra team.

The procession will commence at the esteemed Hotel JW Marriott on Senapati Bapat Road at 1 PM, making its way through prominent landmarks such as Symbiosis College, BMCC College, Marathwada Mitra Mandal College, and culminating at the Agriculture College on Fergusson Road. Between 4.30 PM and 6 PM, the trophy will be unveiled at the Agricultural College grounds, granting cricket enthusiasts an unparalleled opportunity to be in its presence.
