Pune: Over 36K Women Recite Atharvashirsha At Shreemant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati, Foreigners Also Participate

Pune 20th Sept 2023: Following the tradition of years, Atharvashirsha recitation was organised again this year on the occasion of Rishi Panchami at the Shreemant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati pendal in the city. Over 36,000 women from different parts of the city participated in it.

The recitation of Atharvashirsha is a part of Ganeshotsava celebration at the Shreemant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati and this was the 36th year of the annual recitation organised here. The women from different parts of the city gather in wee hours in traditional attire to participate in it and the gathering starts as early as 2 am. The road next to the pendal gets filled with women in traditional attire.

This year women from Russia and Thailand also participated in the recitation, said the trust members. According to the officials, the highest number of women participated till now this year and not only Pune but women from various parts of the state were also present. The traffic department of the city police had diverted the vehicular movement during this period to avoid congestion.
