Pune 20th Sept 2023: The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRDC) is preparing to lease out land along Pune-Mumbai Expressway to utilise the fund recovered from it for other projects in the state. The authorities are planning to lease out land for 99 years and in line with this the MSRDC recently invited bids for the land parcels in Pune and Raigad districts.

A senior MSRDC official told Times Of India that a total of 24 land parcels have been identified along Pune-Mumbai Expressway and 450 hectares of land will be leased under this initiative. The funds received from these land parcels will be used for ongoing projects in the state such as Samruddhi Expressway, Pune Ring Road, Jalna-Nanded Expressway and Virar Multimodal Corridor.

The decision was taken after the officials identified these land parcels which were lying vacant for a long time and were not being used for any purpose. The MSRDC has 189 hectares of land in Pune district and around 262 hectares of land is located in Raigad district. According to officials, tenders will be floated soon for these land parcels and those who win the bids will get the land for 99 years period on lease.
