Pune: 50 Criminals Externed From Zone 4 Area Till Now, 104 Others Booked Under MCOCA

Yerwada, 17th September 2023: Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 4) Shashikant Borate has externed 50 criminals from the Pune district this year till now. Also, 104 others have been put behind bars under the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA), while 15 have been detained under the Maharashtra Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Slumlords Bootleggers & Drug Offenders Act (MPDA) Act.
The Zone 4 area under Pune city police includes Lonikand, Vimantal, Chandan Nagar, Yerwada, Khadki, Vishrantwadi and Chatushrungi police stations.
“The action has been taken against accused persons who are involved in serious body offences and terrorising people”, DCP Borate told PunekarNews.in.
The action includes action against the following organised crime gang leaders and their associates:
Vimantal police station – Ravi Jayaprakash Sasane, Prasad alias Chikya Sampat Gaikwad.
Yerwada Police Station – Aniket alias Datta Raju Sathe, Abhishek alias Abhi Ramesh Tambe, Hussain alias Sonya Yunus Shaikh.
Khadki Police Station – Nadar Changez Irani, Kasim alias Chitta Babarbaruj Irani, Shahrukh Kasim Bagwan, Ganesh Vishnu Adagale alias Sundri Ganya.
Chatushrungi Police Station – Ajay Chandrakant Witkar.
Lonikand Police Station – Tanaji Arjun Jadhav.
Vishrantwadi Police Station – Vikrant alias Sarda Prakash Devkule.
DCP Borate added, “We have also detained 15 members under the MPDA against whom people feared to lodge complaints but who are involved in illegal activities.”
