Pune: Accident Claims Life Of 14-Year-Old As Ambulance Collides With Truck, Boy Was Being Taken To Mumbai For Treatment

Pune, 13th September 2023: A 14-year-old boy lost his life in a horrific accident when a speeding ambulance collided with a truck from behind.
The accident occurred near Dari Bridge on Jambhulwadi Road in the Ambegaon Budruk area, around 2:30 am on Wednesday.

The ambulance driver sustained severe injuries, while three relatives of the young boy suffered minor injuries.

The deceased child has been identified as Kiran Ankush Avtade, hailing from Lendve Chinchale in Mangalvedha, Solapur district. The ambulance driver, Saddam Sutar, is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Satara due to his severe injuries.

Meanwhile, Anita Avtade, Ankush Avtade, and Sukhdev Avtade, who were accompanying Kiran, sustained minor injuries in the accident. Truck driver Nitin Madhukar Gawte, aged 36 and residing in Bhondve Chal, Punavale, Pune, filed a complaint in connection with the incident. As a result, the Bharti Vidyapeeth Police has registered a case against the ambulance driver.

According to the police, the Avtade family hails from the Mangalvedha taluka of Solapur district. They had admitted Kiran to a hospital in Satara for medical treatment. Subsequently, the doctors at Satara recommended his transfer to a hospital in Mumbai for further care. Consequently, the Avtade family was en route to Mumbai in an ambulance with Kiran.

Tragedy struck in the dead of night near Dari Bridge when the ambulance collided with a truck traveling towards Mumbai. Regrettably, Kiran lost his life on the spot due to the impact of the collision. Upon receiving news of the accident, the police promptly arrived at the scene. Police Sub-Inspector Mohan Deshmukh is overseeing the ongoing investigation into the incident.
