Pune 13th Sept 2023: The leaders of Maratha Kranti Morcha on Wednesday announced that they will hold a symbolic protest in the city on Thursday to extend their support to the ongoing protest for reservation to the Maratha community in Jalna. The announcement was made in an official press conference organised in the city today.

The protest will be organised at Mahatma Phule Mandai in the city between 10 am and 5 pm. The press conference was attended by Rajendra Kondhare, Rajendra Kunjir, Sachin Adekar, Prashant Dhumal and Tushar Kakade, all of them were active during the earlier protests for the reservation for Maratha community in Maharashtra.

“According to the Supreme Court directives, a review must be done for the reservation other than those given in the constitution after every 10 years. It must be implemented and the reservation should be given after a review by ensuring that no community in need of the reservation is deprived of it. Maratha community should be included in the OBC category and they should be provided the reservation as demanded by Manoj Jarange during his protest in Jalna” Rajendra Kondhare said.

The Maratha Kranti Morcha leaders also said that the demand was also there to call bandh as part of this protest but many of them decided against it as it would have an impact on the traders ahead of the festive season.
