Pune Police Destroy Seized Drugs Worth Rs 4.75 Crore In Ranjangaon

Pune 13th Sept 2023: The Pune City Police have destroyed seized drugs worth Rs 4.75 Crore at a private company in Ranjangaon MIDC area. The drugs were seized in a total of around 80 different cases registered with the police in the last few months. The cases in which the drugs were seized were registered in 21 different police stations across the city, said officials.

The destroyed drugs include 338.901 Kg of Ganja worth Rs 67,78,020, 1.114 Kg of Mephedrone worth Rs 1,67,17,215, 1.426 Kg of Cocaine worth Rs 2,13,94,485, 1.966 Kg of Charas worth Rs 19,66,000, 28.753 Kg of Poppy Straw worth Rs 2,87,530, 136.624 Kg of Heroin worth Rs 4,09,872. The drugs were destroyed under the observation of a dedicated committee at MEPL company in Ranjangaon according to the rule.

This is a routine exercise of the police department and they have to destroy the seized material according to the rule. The city has been reporting increasing cases of drug smuggling specially ganja in the last few months and the Anti Narcotics Cell of the city police’s crime branch has managed to nab some key accused in different cases in the past.
