Pune : Man Posing As ‘Secret Police Officer’ Robs Mobile Phones In Kalyaninagar, Case Registered
Pune 13th Sept 2023: The Pune City Police have lodged a case against an unidentified person for allegedly stealing mobile phones of two men in Kalyaninagar area. The incident took place at around 9 pm on Sunday. The victims have lodged a complaint with police in the matter.
According to the complaint registered at the Yerawada Police Station, the complainants were stopped by an unidentified person who pretended to be a ‘Secret Police Officer’ and claimed that they clicked pictures of two men in their mobile phones and he needed to check it. He threatened to take action against them for clicking pictures and videos of someone without permission. Scared of action, the duo handed him their phones to check but the accused immediately escaped from the spot with mobile phones worth Rs 17,000 before they could react to the incident.
The police have lodged a case in the matter and have started investigation into it. According to police, one of the complainants is from Nepal and works as a doctor in the city while another is an IT engineer. Both of them reside as paying guests in the Kalyaninagar area.
