Pune : Ghat Areas Receive Good Rainfall In Last 24 Hours, Tamhini Ghat Records 130 MM Rain

Pune 9th Sept 2023: After a long dry spell, the rain has returned to Pune and adjoining areas. The ghat areas in the district have received good rainfall in the last 24 hours. The Indian Meteorological Department had predicted yellow alert for the ghat sections for the last three days.

According to IMD data, 130 mm rain was recorded in Tamhini Ghat area in the last 24 hours while 110 mm rain was recorded in Lonavala and 112 mm rain was recorded in Maval. Other areas in the district have also received a good rainfall over the last 24 hours as IMD has recorded 77 mm rain in Junnar, 49 mm rain was recorded in Bhor and 37 mm rain was recorded in Khed while Chinchwad received 27 mm rain and Rajgurunagar received 17 mm rain.

IMD has issued a yellow alert for the district for today and tomorrow. According to officials, ‘heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places in ghat areas’ is predicted for today while ‘heavy rainfall at isolated places in ghat areas’ has been predicted for tomorrow. Pune has received less rainfall this year and IMD has recorded 15% rain deficit till September 9.
