Passenger Concerns and Suggestions Highlighted in Pune Railway Meeting

Pune, 8th September 2023: A meeting of the Divisional Railway Users Consultative Committee of Pune Division was held on Friday, September 8, at the Divisional Railway Manager’s office. Divisional Railway Manager Smt. Indu Dubey presided over the meeting, with Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Dr. Milind Hirve coordinating the proceedings.

The members present in the meeting provided suggestions regarding passenger facilities and discussed various issues with the railway administration. Divisional Railway Manager Indu Dubey assured that appropriate solutions would be found for these concerns.

The meeting was attended by Nikhil Kachi, Suresh Mane, Gopal Tiwari, Bashir Sutar, Devdutt Nikam, Lalchand Oswal, Appasaheb Shinde, Ajit Chowgule, Kishore Bhorawat, Dilip Batwal, Shivnath Biyani, and other members.

Addressing the meeting, Divisional Railway Manager Indu Dubey provided detailed information about various development works, passenger facilities, infrastructure projects, and activities on Pune Division. She emphasized that steps are being taken to ensure the safe and timely operation of railways, proper maintenance of tracks, and strengthening of the signal system. Pune Railway Administration is committed to providing the best services to its passengers. She urged the members to make meaningful efforts and cooperate for the development of railways, expansion of passenger facilities, and revenue increase.

During the meeting, various issues were raised by the members, including the introduction of an intercity express between Pune-Kolhapur, restarting the Mumbai-Kolhapur Sahyadri Express, train availability for daily commuters from Miraj to Kolhapur in the morning, the stoppage of Pune-Mumbai-Pune Pragati Express at Chinchwad, increasing the number of local trains between Pune-Lonavala and introducing an afternoon local, extending trains from Pune to Ahmedabad, Bhuj, Bikaner, Daund-Indore, and Darshan Express up to Miraj & Kolhapur, starting new trains from Kolhapur to Kalburgi and Miraj to Belgavi, Pandharpur, Satara, etc., and more.

Divisional Railway Manager assured that appropriate steps would be taken to address these issues. Many branch officers were present on the occasion, and Divisional Commercial Manager Dr. Ramdas Bhise expressed a vote of thanks.
