The PMC has undertaken the ambitious revival project of the Mula-Mutha river that meanders through the city. As part of this initiative, a 300-meter sample stretch near Visarjan Ghat, spanning from Yerwada Bridge to Sangamwadi Bridge, has been opened for public viewing. The ‘Puneri Happy Youth Fest’ marked the first of many steps taken by the PMC to allow college students to witness this transformative project. The festival received an overwhelming response from the students who flocked to the site to capture selfies against the picturesque backdrop.

As visitors strolled along the sample stretch, admiration for the river’s revitalization was palpable. Many expressed their desire to see riverbanks throughout Pune echoing the same beauty. Inevitably, people couldn’t resist sharing photos of this exquisite location on social media. The youth reveled in the event, participating in various games alongside Reel’s star Atharva Sudame.

The PMC explained that this unique event aimed to showcase the beauty of the Mula-Mutha riverbanks during the monsoon season and foster a stronger connection between Punekars, students, and the river. Everyone present pledged their commitment to this vision. Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar and Additional Commissioner Dr. Kunal Khemnar congratulated the students and revealed plans for similar programs along the riverbanks in the future.

In a beautiful tribute to the Mula-Mutha River Revival Project, students and teachers from St. Francis De Sales School, Vadgaon Sheri, performed a heart-touching song titled ‘Mazhi Mula Mutha.’ The song captivated the audience, and the young talents who composed and performed it on stage earned well-deserved appreciation and applause.
