With Rs 104.87 Crores Revenue, Pune Railway Division Surges With 22% Revenue Growth In August 2023
Pune, 6th September 2023: The Pune Railway Division has reported a substantial increase in its financial performance for the month of August 2023. The division managed to generate a total passenger revenue of Rs 104.87 Crores during this period, marking a significant 22% rise compared to August 2022 when it stood at Rs 85.72 Crores.
This impressive growth can be attributed to the increased number of originating passengers, which reached 49.02 Lakhs in August 2023, representing a remarkable 28% surge from the 37.3 Lakhs recorded in August 2022.
In terms of ticket checking revenue, August 2023 saw the division collect Rs. 2.65 Crores, marking a substantial 28% increase compared to the Rs. 1.52 Crores reported in August 2022. Additionally, the division achieved a commendable revenue of Rs. 1.34 Crores in August 2023 from commercial publicity, a significant 56% increase from the Rs. 0.86 Crores reported in August 2022.
The Pune Railway Division also excelled in the transportation of goods, with a total revenue of Rs. 43.98 Crores earned from 167 goods trains in August 2023. These trains comprised 68 carrying automobiles, 43 transporting petroleum products, and 26 loaded with sugar rakes.
Notably, the 68 rakes of automobiles loaded in August 2023 generated revenue of Rs. 12.03 Crores, reflecting a notable 51% increase compared to August 2022 when there were 67 such rakes and revenue was Rs. 10.65 Crores. Furthermore, the 43 rakes of petroleum products loaded in August 2023 brought in revenue of Rs. 13.64 Crores, marking a remarkable 61% increase compared to August 2022 when there were 40 such rakes and revenue stood at Rs. 8.45 Crores.
These impressive results were achieved under the exemplary leadership of the Pune Divisional Railway Manager, Indu Dubey, and the Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Brijesh Kumar Singh. The division was also guided by the expertise of Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Dr. Milind Hirave and Senior Divisional Operating Manager Dr. Swapnil Nila, who played pivotal roles in these outstanding achievements.
