Pune: Speed Up The Works To Set Up ITI Colleges In Yerawada And Haveli, Ajit Pawar Instructs Officials

Pune 6th Sept 2023: The Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Wednesday instructed the officials to speed-up the work to set up Industrial Training Institute (ITI) units in Yerwada and Haveli in Pune district. He also asked the officials to offer tailored programs suitable for local industries in Pune at the institute to help the industries get better employment from the district itself.

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar chaired a meeting today at the Ministry of Skill Development. Present at the meeting were Skill Development, Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation Minister Mangalprabhat Lodha, Member of Legislative Assembly Sunil Tingare, Dr. Nitin Kareer, Additional Chief Secretary of the Finance Department, Ashish Kumar Singh, Additional Chief Secretary of the Skill Development, Employment, and Entrepreneurship Department, Ashish Sharma, Principal Secretary of the Chief Minister’s Office, Saurabh Vijay, Principal Secretary of the Planning Department, Sanjay Dashpute, Secretary of the Public Works Department, and Digamber Dalvi, Director of Business Education and Training.

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar stated that land measuring 5 acres has been already allocated in Lohegaon to set up an industrial training institute in Yerwada. He instructed the officials to prepare a detailed plan for construction work in this administrative building and workshop. As the institute will be a turning point for commoners, the district collector has been instructed to inform the district planning of the annual plan’s allocation.

In Pune, industrial training institutes will provide modern courses based on technology and cater to local needs, such as robotics, CNC machine handling, mechanics, and more under Industry 4.0. This initiative aims to create significant employment opportunities within the region’s industries. Simultaneously, the process of filling vacancies for positions sanctioned for these industrial training institutes should commence immediately. Concerned authorities have been directed to take prompt action in this regard, said Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
