Pune : NDA Chowk Flyover Inaugurated But Work Is Still On, Lane Closure Leads To Traffic Congestion
Pune 30th August 2023: The grand event held to inaugurate the Chandni Chowk flyover that was later renamed as NDA Chowk brought relief to the citizens as they felt that the traffic congestion problem they have been facing for the last few months will finally end. However, the situation does not seem to have changed as the commuters passing from this chowk during the peak hours in the evening every day are landing in a heavy traffic jam every day.
This according to locals is happening because the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) is still conducting work by closing the lanes on Pune-Bangalore Highway in the evening hours. According to officials, the work to construct an underpass at this chowk is still underway and the installation of girder and construction of slab on the road is also being done for which a lane was closed to avoid any accident.
Meanwhile, the locals who cross this chowk everyday are now claiming that they are stuck in a heavy traffic jam at this chowk during the peak hours in the morning and evening and the construction of the flyover does not seem to be fulfilling its purpose. They claim that the authorities rushed to inaugurate the flyover by organising a grand event despite the work not completed.
