Pune : Funds Approved For Works In Kasba Constituency Diverted To Parvati Constituency, Alleges MLA Ravindra Dhangekar
Pune 29th August 2023: Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Kasba constituency Ravindra Dhangekar has alleged that the state government has diverted the funds approved to carry out works in Kasba constituency. He has alleged that the government has diverted the funds to Parvati constituency by publishing an ammended circular on July 27.
“As a special provision scheme to develop basic amenities in the jurisdiction of municipal corporation, Rs 10 Crore fund was approved to carry out various developmental works in Kasba constituency. A total of around 100 proposed development works including roads, beautification, jogging tracks, restroom renovation, sidewalks, immersion ghats, and park development were planned using this fund” Dhangekar said.
“As per the government decision issued by the Urban Development Department on December 20, 2022, these projects were approved, and the allocated fund of Rs 10 crore was sanctioned for it. However, on July 27, 2023, following the government ammended the circular and this fund was diverted to carry out works in the Parvati constituency” he added.
Dhangekar alleged that the government is playing politics over the developmental works and the decision was taken only because the constituency is presently by the MLA who is not part of the ruling parties. He urged the government to reverse the decision and allocate the funds for the development in Kasba constituency.
