Pune: Two Sketting Players From City To Receive Maharashtra’s Highest Sports Award

Pune 28th August 2023: Chief Minister Eknath Shinde will confer Maharashtra’s highest prestigious sports award ‘Shiv Chhatrapati Award’ to two sketting players of the city at an event in Balewadi Stadium on Monday. Arhant Rajendra Joshi and Shrutika Jayant Sarode, both players from Pune will receive the award today.

Arhant has been practising and competing in freestyle skating for the last over 10 years participated in 18th Asian Roller Skating Championship held at Namwon in Korea in 2018 and Spain World Roller Games held at Barcelona in 2019. Last year he won a gold in the score based event classic Shalom and one bronze in time trial based speed slalom in the Inline Freestyle Skating category at the Indian Roller Games Championship held in Mohali, Punjab.

Shrutika Sarode who has been into skating for the last 17 years has represented India in World and Asian Championships. A winner of over 100 medals and trophies she has participated at 18th Asian Roller Skating Championship held at Namwon in Korea in 2018 and World Freestyle Skating Championship held at Taipei in Taiwan in 2013.
