Pune: Bullets Used To Kill Dabholkar Were Manufactured In Khadki Ammunition Factory, CBI Officer Informs Court

Pune 25th August 2023: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officer S R Sing who is investigating a case related to rationalist Narendra Dabholkar’s murder has revealed shocking details in a court on Thursday. Singh during a cross examination in the court said that the bullets used to kill Dabholkar were manufactured in Khadki Ammunition Factory and the investigation team did not investigate as to how these bullets came out.

 

The investigation officer further also informed the court that despite knowing that the two accused Sachin Andure and Sharad Kalaskar were lodged in Yerawada Central Jail, the investigation team did not conduct the identification parade. The answers given by the investigation officer in the court pointed towards the lapses in the investigation by the CBI team.

 

It may be noted that Narendra Dabholkar was shot dead at the Maharshi Vitthal Ramji Shinde Bridge in the city on 20 August 2013 when he was out for a morning walk. The court has framed charges against five accused identified as Virendrasingh Tawve, Sachin Andure, Sharad Kalaskar, Sanjiv Punalekar and Vikram Bhave in the case. Counsel for defence Advocate Virendra Ichalkaranjikar conducted cross examination of the investigation officer on Thursday. The next hearing in the case is scheduled on September 5.
