Nashik, 21st August 2023: Nashik’s response to a surge in eye flu cases involves a temporary closure of all public parks for a span of 15 days, as announced by the Nashik Municipal Corporation. This proactive measure aims to contain the spread of the contagious infection, which has affected more than 4,000 individuals. The city’s health department emphasizes the importance of not panicking but rather adopting necessary precautions.

Symptoms of eye flu encompass sensations like having a scratched eye, redness, pinkness, itching, burning, eyelids sticking together upon waking, eyelid swelling, and continuous tearing. To counter the infection’s propagation, individuals are advised to avoid crowded places when symptoms arise, abstain from sharing personal items like towels and handkerchiefs, minimize physical contact both at home and outside, regularly wash hands, refrain from touching the face and eyes, use protective eyewear, and seek professional medical treatment rather than self-medication.

Although eye flu generally exhibits mild symptoms for about four to five days, quick attention, proper care, and timely medical intervention are vital for a complete and speedy recovery.
