Pune : 16 Weeks Training Of Agniveers Comprising 20 Women Completed At INS Shivaji

Pune 20th August 2023: Maiden batch of 261 Agniveers comprising 20 women trainees have successfully completed their 16 weeks of rigorous training at INS Shivaji in Lonavala on Aug 19. The batch included 10 trainees from the Indian Coast Guard and six trainees from friendly foreign countries.

During this professional training, the trainees were taken through organised curriculum of academics, sports, parade and extra-curricular activities. They were provided with classroom and practical training on various engineering equipment, Fire fighting and damage control, small arms handling and firing. Awards were presented to meritorious Agniveers, which included Himanshu Banga, AVR (ME), for first in order of merit, Gursewak Singh, AVR (ME) for best all-rounder (men) and Asmita K Chavan, AVR (ME) for best all-rounder (women).

Deputy Commissioner of Mumbai Police IPS Tejaswi Satpute interacted with the agniveers at the course completion ceremony and she motivated them on their future endeavours.
