Pune: Government Railway Police Shine Bright on Independence Day with Acts of Service and Celebration

Pune, 15th August 2023: As the nation marks its 76th year of independence, the spirit of patriotism and celebration resonates across the city. Schools and colleges adorned with vibrant decorations, government offices illuminated with enchanting lights, and a myriad of programs have colored the landscape of the district.

Amid these jubilant celebrations, Pune Railway Police has taken center stage with a series of remarkable initiatives that embody the essence of the occasion.

Reuniting Lost Mobiles with Grateful Owners: The diligent efforts of the Pune Railway Police have borne fruit as they successfully recovered 45 lost mobile phones belonging to passengers. On this significant occasion of Independence Day, these mobiles were joyously returned to their rightful owners. The appreciative recipients conveyed their heartfelt gratitude to the Railway Police for their unwavering dedication.

Honoring Police Personnel with Promotions: The spirit of progress and growth was palpable as 33 diligent police officers were promoted to varying ranks, ranging from constable to assistant sub-inspector. Additionally, 33 policemen were elevated to the position of police naiks, following the established government guidelines. These promotions stand as a testament to their dedication and service to the nation.

Weapons Exhibition: In an effort to educate and enlighten, Pune Railway Police hosted an illuminating exhibition showcasing modern weaponry. Experts engaged students in illuminating discussions about the intricate components and functions of these weapons. The exhibition featured an array of arms, including the 5.56 INSAS rifle, 9mm carbine machine, AK-47, Glock pistols, MP-5, 7.62 mm SLR, 12 bore, and gas gun. Both students and teachers expressed their gratitude to SP Shrikant Dhiware, DySP Chandrakant Bhosale, SDPO Devikar, officials, and policemen for this enlightening experience.

Hoisting the Flag in Eminent Company: Under the guidance of SP Shrikant Dhiware, the flag hoisting ceremony witnessed the esteemed presence of actor Ajay Purkar, renowned for his roles in films like “Fatteshikast” and “Pavankhind.” As the Tricolor soared high, accompanied by heartfelt patriotic fervor, actor Ajay Purkar graced the occasion with his presence. Attendees of the event were greeted with a thoughtful gesture as fruits were distributed to all.

Fostering Bonds Beyond Borders: The Pune Railway Police extended their embrace to the Society of Friends of the Sassoon Hospital Pune (SOFOSH), where they hoisted the national flag with the exuberant company of little children.
