Pune: Ganesh Mandals Boycott Police Meeting After Separate Meeting Called For Manache Ganpati
Pune 9th August 2023: Several Ganesh mandals of the city on Wednesday boycotted the first ever meeting called by the city police ahead of upcoming ganpati festivals in the city. The representatives of these ganesh mandals claimed that the city police had organised a separate meeting with the representatives of the five ‘manache ganpati’ and hence they were given step-brother-like treatment by the city police.
However, the city police have clarified that there was a delay in the meeting and some mandals had to go early. The joint commissioner of police also said that he has personally apologized to the ganesh mandals representatives for the delay and the meeting has been rescheduled at 6 pm tomorrow.
