Punekars Save Over Rs 2 Crore In A Month By Paying Electricity Bills Online And Opting For ‘Go Green Scheme’

Pune 8th August 2023 : The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Limited (MSEDCL) has said that the number of consumers making online payment of their bills and those opting for ‘Go Green Scheme’ of the government in Pune division was recorded highest across Maharashtra. According to the officials, the consumers have saved over Rs 2 Crore of their money by opting for these options in a month.

According to the official data shared by the MSEDCL, an average of 11.05 Lakh consumers in Pune division make online payments every month and they have opted for E-bill. By doing this, these consumers avail a discount of around Rs 2.26 Crore every month. The MSEDCL provides 1% discount in the total bill for making prompt payment.

A total of 6,46, 871 consumers in Pune avail a discount of Rs 1.37 Crore and four thousand every month while 2,87,090 consumers in Pimpri Chinchwad avail a discount of Rs 50.70 Lakh by making online payment of their bills. Similarly, a total of 1,71,815 consumers from Ambegaon, Junnar, Khed, Maval, Mulshi, Velhe and Haveli tehsils avail a discount of Rs 33,87,750 every month by opting for these options.

The MSEDCL consumers who opt for ‘Go Green Scheme’ are provided a Rs 10 discount in each bill. A total of 1,05,019 consumers in Pune avail a discount of Rs 1.26 Crores and 2,280 rupees under this scheme every month, said officials.
