Pune: Amid Surge In Cases Of Conjunctivitis, Chemists In Pimpri Chinchwad Face Shortage Of Eye Drops
Pune 8th August 2023: As several districts in Maharashtra are witnessing surge in cases of Conjunctivitis, the city that reported major outbreak last month is now facing Shortage of eye drops. The chemists of Pimpri Chinchwad have claimed that they are getting less supply of eye drops from dealers amid heavy demand.
The chemists have said that they are getting almost 50 percent less supply of antibiotics eye drops than demand from dealers for the last few days. Though medical practitioners are not providing the eye drops without prescriptions, the shortage continues since the number of conjunctivitis cases have suddenly increased in the last few days.
However, the chemists have expressed hope claiming that the manufacturing companies have now increased the production and the number of cases has also started going down due to which the problem is likely to be solved soon.
