New Leadership for Football Skating in India: Pune Based Ikramuddin Essa Khan Appointed As FSFI President

Pune, 31st July 2023: In a momentous press conference held in Pune, on July 31, 2023, the President of the International Federation Football Skating (FIFS), Mehdi Salman Pour, granted official recognition to the Football Skating Federation of India (FSFI). During the event, Ikramuddin Essa Khan was appointed as the President of FSFI and was presented with the prestigious National Federation Recognition License, endorsed by the International Professional Training Certification (IPTC) and FIFS.

The press conference also witnessed the appointment of the vice president, general secretary, and joint secretary of the Indian Federation by the President of FIFS.

President Salman Pour expressed his belief in India’s tremendous potential for various sports, especially modern disciplines. He highlighted the longstanding history of Football Skating, which originated in London in 1882, and has now grown to include over 200 active countries, 65 national federations, and more than 4,000 certified coaches and referees worldwide.

Zahra Abdoliharandi, personal assistant to the President of FIFS, announced that 14 Football Skating World Cups have been officially held in countries like England, Germany, America, Italy, Brazil, France, Netherlands, and Belgium. The 15th edition of the prestigious event is set to take place in Turkey later this year, with expectations of India’s national team participating.

President Salman Pour emphasized the sport’s unique appeal, as it promotes gender equality by enabling men and women to compete together on the same team. FIFS strongly advocates for gender parity in their World Championships.

Ikram Khan, President of the Football Skating Federation of India, outlined his ambitious plans to appoint board members, managers, and committee heads from various Indian states. The focus will then shift towards extensive training programs in schools to foster widespread development of the sport. State and national competitions will take center stage, as the Federation endeavors to select the finest players to represent India with pride in the forthcoming World Cup.

 

Besides Khan, Gaurav Gadhok has been appointed as Vice President, Mohammad Qadir has been appointed as secretary and Takdir Sayyed has been appointed as joint secretary.
