UP STF Arrests Two From Pune For Duping People Of Rs 9 Crore By Selling Charity Show Tickets
Pune 30th July 2023: The Special Task Force (STF) team of Uttar Pradesh Police has arrested two accused from Pune for duping people of Rs 9 Crore by selling them tickets of a charity show that was supposed to be held in Lucknow last year. The two accused were absconding for several months after cancelling the show and the case was handed over to the the Special Task Force for further investigation.
The accused identified as Viraj Trivedi, the prime accused, and Jayantibhai Derawalia were arrested from Pune on July 27. The police also arrested one more accused identified as Sameer Kumar Jitendrabhai Sharma from Ahmedabad in the case.
It is alleged that the arrested accused had collected money from people in the name of tickets for charity show and claimed that celebrities including Tiger Shroff, Sunny Leone, Nora Fatehi and singers Guru Randhawa, Sachet and Parampara would participate in the show. However, later the show was cancelled and the organisers ran away with money. A case in this regard was registered with UP Police.
