Pune: Firefighters Successfully Rescue Two Dogs Trapped in Tar Drums

Pune, 30th July 2023: On Saturday, the fire brigade control room in Kondhwa, Parge Nagar, received a distress call about two dogs stuck in a tar drum behind DSK Society.

 

Upon arriving at the spot, the firefighters discovered that the dogs were trapped in a drum filled with a large amount of tar. The drum had been brought down from a high mountain area by locals using a tractor.

 

Anand Adsul, contacted by two members of the Wild Animals and Snakes Protection Society, also reached the location to assist in the rescue.

 

Using a circular saw, a firefighting device, the Jawans cut the drum into two parts. Then, employing various small rescue equipment from the fire engine and using oil, they worked tirelessly to safely free both dogs. The successful rescue operation took about an hour.

 

The remarkable effort was carried out by Tandel Nilesh Lonkar from Kondhwa Khurd fire station, driver Deepak Kachre, and Ravi Bartakke, Sagar Ingle, Aniket Gogawle, Manoj Gaikwad, Santosh Mane, along with the dedicated members of the Wild Animals and Snakes Protection Society, Laxman Waghmare and Sandesh Rasal.

 

Local resident Pratibha Pawar played a crucial role in this rescue mission by promptly informing the fire brigade, enabling them and the animal society to respond swiftly and save the trapped dogs.
