Pune, 27th July 2023: Residents of Porwal Road, Lohegaon, were left in the dark as a major power outage struck the area due to electricity fluctuations and multiple blasts in the distribution panel (DP). The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) officials reported that the incident resulted in extensive cable damage caused by the ensuing fire.

According to MSEDCL spokesperson, Pro Nishikant Raut, the power outage affected not only Park springs society but also some surrounding societies. He assured that efforts are underway to resolve the issue, but the extent of damage demands a significant amount of time for complete restoration.

“Investigations into the cause of the electricity fluctuations and blasts are ongoing, and our team is working diligently to replace the damaged cables and restore electricity in the affected areas,” said the Vishrantwadi division MSEDCL official to Punekar News.

Unfortunately, the Park Springs society remains the most affected, and restoration may take a bit longer for them.

Meanwhile, residents of Porwal Road expressed their frustration as the electricity continued to play “hide and seek” for the past eight hours. They emphasized the impact on local businesses and urged MSEDCL to expedite the restoration process without requiring individual complaints.

In response to the situation, social media saw an outcry from affected individuals. Utkarsh Tiwari’s tweet questioned the quality of service provided by MSEDCL, citing severe disruptions to businesses and a lack of resolution throughout the day.
