BDDS Dogs Confirm Explosive Material In White Powder Seized From Suspected Terrorists Arrested In Pune

Pune 25th July 2023 : The investigation conducted by the police after arresting two suspected terrorists in Pune has revealed shocking information. The sources have confirmed that the white powder seized from their possession was an explosive material and the same has been confirmed by the sniffer dogs of the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) of the city police.

The sources further have also confirmed that the arrested accused conducted ‘Explosive Vapour Detection Test’ at three locations in Maharashtra including Pune, Satara and Kolhapur. This indicates that they were planning to plant a series of blasts during their stay in Pune. According to reports, the accused were planning to use the explosive material in vehicles to plant bombs.

The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) on Tuesday have taken the two accused identifed as Mohammad Yunus Mohammad Saki (24) and Mohammad Imran Mohammad Yusuf Khan (23) in custody from Pune city police as the ATS have been handed over the probe to conduct further investigation in the case. The two accused were produced before the court in Pune by ATS team where the court has sent them to an ATS custody till August 5.

“Police have said that the sniffer dogs of BDDS have confirmed explosives in the material seized from the accused and they had conducted ‘Explosive Vapour Detection Test’ before they were arrested. They have also seized a Pen Drive which has some sensitive information. Both accused have been sent to ATS custody till August 5” Advocate Yashpal Purohit who appeared for the accused said.

It may be noted that the Pune Police had arrested the two accused during a patrolling in Kothrud. Another accused was also taken into custody by police but he managed to escape as they were being taken to their residence in Kondhwa for search. It was revealed that both arrested accused were in the list of ‘Most Wanted’ of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in a case registered at Rajasthan and a reward of Rs 5 lakh each was also announced on them.
