IRCTC Ticket Booking Website Resumes Services After 11-Hour Outage
Delhi, 25th July 2023: In a major setback for commuters, the Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) experienced a prolonged technical disruption, rendering its ticketing services inaccessible on both the official website and application for approximately 11 hours today.
Railway officials stated that the glitch had plagued the IRCTC PRS ticket booking website from 02:56 hrs to 13:28 hrs. During this period, frustrated users were left unable to book train tickets, causing inconvenience and agitation among the public.
The cause of the disruption was initially unspecified, as IRCTC officials issued a statement on the condition of anonymity. However, they reassured the public that a competent technical team from the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) was working diligently to resolve the issue.
Fortunately, after the arduous efforts of the technical team, the IRCTC website was finally restored to normal functionality at 13:28 hrs. Commuters can now resume booking train tickets through the platform without any hindrance.
During the outage, alternative options for ticket booking were suggested to passengers, including popular B2C platforms like Amazon and Makemytrip, which offer railway ticket booking services.
