Prime Minister Modi To Inaugurate Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Houses In Pune On August 1

Pune, 24th July 2023: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is set to launch the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in five different areas to provide housing for economically weaker sections. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will grace the occasion by inaugurating the houses on August 1 at the police headquarters ground in Shivajinagar.

During his visit to Pune to receive the prestigious Lokmanya Tilak National Award, Prime Minister Modi will participate in the program, jointly organized by Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), Mahametro, and PMRDA, at the police headquarters ground. A meeting was convened with officials from the Collector’s office, Police Commissionerate, Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporations, and PMRDA to finalize the arrangements. Prime Minister Modi will arrive at Sinchan Bhavan by helicopter from Lohegaon Airport, and the government program at Shivajinagar will be open to all.

The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana will witness the construction of over eight thousand flats in the city, specifically catering to citizens without homes within the municipal limits. Beneficiaries of the scheme will receive the house keys in a representative format for the Vadgaon project.

During his visit to Pune, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also visit the revered Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati and pay homage to Lokmanya Tilak at Tilak Smarak. The Lokmanya Tilak National Award, distributed by the Lokmanya Tilak Trust on the death anniversary of Lokmanya Tilak, will be bestowed upon Prime Minister Modi, with the esteemed award ceremony to be graced by senior leader Sharad Pawar.
