Dhanori’s Bumpy Ride: AAP’s Protest Puts Pressure on Pune Administration
Lohegaon, 24th July 2023: The Dhanori jakat naka road in Pune, which had been marred by huge potholes for several days, has finally been cleared. However, the administration’s apparent neglect of the road has resulted in significant hardships for the citizens.
Yesterday, a rally was organized under the leadership of Aam Aadmi Party’s Pune city media chief, Amit Mhaske, to bring attention to this issue. As a form of protest, a symbolic boat was put in one of the potholes and planted trees in the area.
The presence of massive potholes on jakat naka road in Dhanori has led to severe traffic problems, indicating that little to no measures have been taken to address the citizens’ concerns. Despite Pune Municipal Corporation receiving Rs 150 crore annually in taxes from this area, the administration has seemingly failed to provide adequate facilities and maintain the road. The sorry state of the Dhanori road, left unattended for years, has generated dissatisfaction among the citizens.
During the rally, Mhaske emphasized the urgency of the situation and demanded immediate action from the administration. Representatives from the Aam Aadmi Party, including Avinash Bhakere, Manoj Shetty, Shraddha Shetty, Suraj Birajdar, Akshay Mhaske, Sanjay Kone, Shivaji Dolare, Sanjay Kataranvare, Akshay Davadikar, Joginder Pal Tura, Milind Oval, Manjunath Manure, Sandeep Suryavanshi, and Ganesh Tarlekar, were present to support the cause.
