Over 100 Houses In Pune Cantonment In Dangerous Condition, 16 Granted Permission For Minor Repairs
Pune 24th July 2023: In a recent survey conducted by the Pune Cantonment, it has been revealed that over 100 houses located in the cantonment area jurisdiction are in dangerous condition and need repair. The survey was conducted to identity such dangerous structures as many old and risky houses pose threat to lives during the monsoon.
The houses that require minor repairs, the necessary permissions for repairs have been granted. However, the houses that need to be demolished and reconstructed, they will need to apply following a lrocess to proceed with the construction work.
In the Cantonment area, there are restrictions on new constructions. Increased Floor Space Index (FSI) is also not given for the new construction projects. Besides, a dispute between the landlord and tenant has also come out as one of the major problems.
The survey conducted by the Cantonment Board has revealed information about the 100 dangerous houses. According to officials, the tenants are not vacating their houses fearing they may loose their rights on the property. The cantonment officials have instructed the residents to talk to the owners and get the houses repaired or vacate it to avoid any accident.
