Pune: Tamhini Ghat Records 230 mm Rainfall In Last 24 Hours, 137 mm Recorded At Lonavala
Pune 23rd July 2023: As ghat sections in Pune continue to report heavy rainfall for the last few days, Tamhini Ghat and Lonavala again reported a good rainfall on Saturday. According to IMD, 230 mm rainfall was recorded in Tamhini Ghat area in the last 24 hours while 137 mm rainfall was reported in Lonavala. Similarly, 170 mm rainfall was reported at Shirgaon in Maval.
The continuous rainfall reported in the rural areas of the district has helped in increasing water levels at the dams. Water levels at the dams that supply water to Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad have increased in the last few days. IMD has issued an orange alert for the district for July 23 while yellow alert has been issued for July 24, 25 and 26.
