Pune : Passenger Attacks MSRTC Conductor With Knife For Asking To Purchase Ticket For Journey, Case Registered

Pune 23rd July 2023: In a shocking incident reported near Daund on Saturday, a Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) conductor was attacked by a passenger with knife for asking to purchase a ticket for his journey. The incident took place near Mauje Dauda village in Daund on Paithan-Satara bus of MSRTC.

According to police, the accused identified as Harun Iqbal Qureshi was travelling in an ST bus that broke down near a ghat at Mukum. He along with other passengers were accommodated in another bus coming from behind in which the complainant was conductor. As the passengers boarded the bus conductor Datta Kute started asking everyone for the ticket and their destination.

The accused had a ticket of Gol Road and he wanted to get down at Nagarmori Daud village bus stop. When the conductor asked him to purchase a ticket for further journey he started arguing and lated indulged in a physical attack using a knife and tried to flee from there. However, the bus conductor and driver with the help of other passengers nabbed him and took him to Daund police station. The complainant conductor sustained an injury on his face due to a knife attack.

A case in this regard has been registered at Daund police station against Harun Iqbal Qureshi, a resident of Baramati under sections 353, 332, 333, 504 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) Further investigation in the matter is underway.
